Tips for Promoting

Here are some tips for promoting:

Post in a forum
Posting in a forum is probably the easiest and most common way of advertising us. All you need to do is go to any forums and talk about the TSG. Be sure to list the website, the next marathon plus games and the charity, and the date (post the link to the topic in the current promotion topic to receive your medal) . Also be remember to abide to the forums's rules. If the rules of that forums restrict advertising, talk about it in your signature (if available) or PM some users. If you decide to go against any rules against advertising, do it at your own risk. Also, don't spam. You don't want the people to see us as spammers! If you PM, the person/people that you PM must join the forums and tell us you refered them to get the promoter medal

Make a Youtube (or any other major video site) video
Now, if you don't know what Youtube is, it is a very popular video site and another common way to advertise. This has to follow the Youtube video rules, so don't post anything bad. It has to have the date of the marathon, website, and games/charity. Also it doesn't need to be special, we don't expect much, and it doesn't have to be a whole video. If you cannot make a Youtube video, just comment and rate other videos (you will not get a promoter medal for this) . Messaging people on Youtube about advertisements never turns out good, it is very spammy. Remember to post the link to the video in the current promotion topic to receive your promoter medal. This also goes for any other major video site.

Blog about it
Blogging is a very universal way to promote that includes posts on a blog (like Twitter and Blogspot) or a simple Facebook (Will need a screen cap) or Myspace post. It needs to have the basic stuff, the date/time, the marathon/games, and the charity. Remember to link it to the newest promotion topic to receive your medal!

Tell people!
The simplest way to promote us is by simply telling people! This way you will not get a promoter medal unless the person/people you told join our forums and tell us you referred them to us. If you want to be more extreme, you could make a shirt, poster, flyers, or business cards. These don't have to have all of the info on the next marathon. but they do need the name of the group and site. You will need to take a picture or scan you work to the latest promotion topic to get the promotion medal.

Stream/Chat about it
Streaming is like what the TSG do, you can do it yourself, all you need is an account on a streaming site like Ustream, Justin.TV, or Blog TV. When you do, you can put a little note addon to your stream or just talk about it. If you need to chat, just type it, but type at your own risk. A moderator/admin needs to be present for you to achieve the medal.
